Wouldn't you like to be NBA superstar, Kevin Durant for a day? A multi-platform social campaign that engages NBA fans of Kevin Durant on a personal level.
Fans are asked to engage in three phases: 1) “Do the Durant”, where fans submit a photo imitate KD signature move of pointing up in the sky after a big basket. 2) Enter a KD trivia contest. 3) help KD make fashion decisions on twitter, like blue or white sneakers.
To play, fans would register and enter online at sprint.com/NBA and can track each entry. Entry also count by following KD on twitter and posting with the hashtag #BKD4ADAY. The more you engage, the more entries you will earn.
The winning fan got to be Durant’s guest at a game (includes tickets, hotel, travel arrangements) and received an official KD signature backpack containing premium headphones, a pair of KD sneakers, a jersey and basketball signed by Durant, and a HTC One® from Sprint.
This campaign quickly gained 10K+ acquisitions for Sprint in the first week of the promotion.
